Themes
Coda ships with four built-in themes — Dark, Light, Midnight, and Ocean. Every screen and component respects your chosen theme.
Dark
The default theme. A pure black background with iOS blue accent color. Designed for OLED displays to minimize battery usage and reduce eye strain in low-light environments.
- Background: Pure black (#000000)
- Accent: iOS blue (#007AFF)
- Best for: Nighttime listening, OLED displays
Light
A clean, bright theme with a light gray background and iOS blue accent. Ideal for daytime use and bright environments.
- Background: Light gray (#F2F2F7)
- Accent: iOS blue (#007AFF)
- Best for: Daytime use, bright environments
Midnight
A deep navy background with purple accent color. A refined alternative to the standard dark theme with a warmer, more distinctive feel.
- Background: Deep navy (#0F172A)
- Accent: Purple (#6C5CE7)
- Best for: Users who prefer a warmer dark theme
Ocean
A slate blue background with cyan accent color. Inspired by deep water tones, providing a calm and distinctive aesthetic.

- Best for: Users who prefer cool, oceanic tones
Switching Themes
Open the Settings tab from the bottom navigation.
Find the Theme section.
Tap your preferred theme. The change applies immediately across the entire app.

Accent Colors
Each theme has its own accent color that is used consistently across interactive elements like buttons, toggles, highlights, and active states. The accent color is automatically applied when you switch themes — no manual configuration needed.
Accent Color Usage
- Buttons and toggles — Primary actions use the accent color
- Active states — Current tab, selected items, and focused elements
- Progress indicators — Playback progress, loading states
- Lyrics highlighting — The current lyrics line is highlighted with the accent color
- Favorites — Heart icon uses the accent color
