Coda fetches synced lyrics from LRCLIB and displays them with automatic scrolling, line-by-line highlighting, and tap-to-seek.

Synced Lyrics

When you play a track, Coda automatically searches LRCLIB for synchronized lyrics. If available, each line is displayed with its exact timestamp, and Coda highlights the current line as the song plays.

Multi-timestamp LRC lines (where a single line has multiple timestamps) are supported — each timestamp is treated as a separate line.

How Lyrics Are Matched

Lyrics are matched to tracks using duration. Coda finds the closest matching lyrics entry by comparing the track's duration with available LRCLIB results. This ensures lyrics stay in sync even across different versions or remasters of the same song.

ℹDuration-Based Matching

LRCLIB indexes lyrics by track duration. Coda uses a nearest-duration algorithm to find the best match, which handles different encodings and slight duration variations.

Auto-Scroll

Lyrics automatically scroll to keep the current line centered on screen. The scroll animation is smooth and never interrupts your reading.

Highlighted Line

The currently playing line is highlighted with an accent color and slightly larger text. Previous lines fade to a dimmer color so your eye naturally follows the song.

Tap to Seek

Tap any lyrics line to jump directly to that timestamp in the song. This lets you quickly navigate to your favorite verse or chorus without scrubbing the progress bar.

✦Timing Note

There is a small 200ms highlight delay built into the lyrics sync. This prevents the highlight from jumping ahead of what you're hearing, keeping the visual in sync with the audio.

Caching

Once fetched, lyrics are cached locally. This means:

Subsequent plays load lyrics instantly
Lyrics work offline (if previously fetched)
Only actual lyrics are cached — if no lyrics are found, nothing is stored

No Lyrics Available

If no synced lyrics are found on LRCLIB, the lyrics panel displays a message indicating that lyrics are not available for the current track. The panel remains accessible so you can check again if you believe lyrics should be available.

Accessing Lyrics

Lyrics are accessible from the Player screen. Tap the lyrics button or swipe up on the artwork to reveal the synced lyrics panel.
